Proteolytic enzymes (himopsin, chymotrypsin, trypsin)
 Purpose
PurposeActive proteolytic enzymes decompose peptide bonds, contributing to the splitting of proteins into aminoacids and small peptides
Characteristics
Trypsin and chymotrypsin are proteolytic enzymes of the vertebrates pancreas. The first one splits peptide bonds at the residues Lys and Arg, while the second splits peptide bonds at the residues of Tyr, Phe and Trp. Himopsin is a complex of trypsin and chymotrypsin.
Physical and chemical characteristics:
A-chymotrypsin

Application
Spheres of applications of proteolytic enzymes are quite extensive. They are used in laboratory and diagnostic practice, medicine, agriculture, etc.
Laboratory and diagnostic practice:
1.Selective reagents in structural studies of proteins:
• chemical-enzymatic synthesis
• racemate division
• resynthesis of peptide and ester linkage
2. "Reinforcing" enzyme markers at the immune-enzyme microanalysis
3. Cell cultures sampling
Medicine:
1. As a medicament the treatment of:
- thrombophlebitis
- necrotic ulcers
- bronchial asthma
3. Enzymatic cleaning of contact lenses
Agricultural and food industry:
- cheesemaking
