GENEEXPRESSIONANALYSER software for modeling and analysis of DNA microchips data

Purpose

GeneExpressionAnalyser software package can be used in research centers and institutions involved in solving of bioinformatics problems and processing of DNA microchips data (Institute of Molecular Biology). The package can be used in Epidemiology and Microbiology centers for prompt analysis of diseases and virus strains, as well as for training purposes, biophysical and statistical studies.

Characteristics

GeneExpressionAnalyser was designed to improve biomedical research activities in order to automate the DNA microchips data processing, reduce costs for research and interpretation of results of laboratory data analysis.

Advantages over analogues:

GeneExpressionAnalyser package performs a number of brand-new functions and has the following advantages over existing software in this segment of experimental research:
  1. user-friendly operation, since it doesn’t require programming skills;
  2. ensures data analysis integrity. The package combines basic steps of analysis of DNA microchips data: loading, pre-processing, selection of significant genes, classification and clustering, selection of significant biofunctions;
  3. integrates advanced analysis techniques, such as normalization, recovery of missing values and simulation modeling;
  4. allows exploring Affymetrix microchips, two-color microchips, as well as data sets presented in a tabular form;
  5. ensures an effective analysis of the annotation list of differentially expressed genes;
  6. uses multisequencing of resources and benefits of Matlab software environment, allows analyzing large volumes of experimental and simulated data.

At present, GeneExpressionAnalyser basic software package is available in a public domain (http://sablab.net/students/saetchnikov). It provides well-timed update of annotation database, but doesn’t require a permanent Internet connection.

The use of GeneExpressionAnalyser software system can improve medical treatment productivity and quality by development of new personalized remedies, and at the same time it reduces the costs for laboratory biomedical and clinical research.

R&D protection
Property rights for implementation and use of GeneExpressionAnalyser are owned by the Belarusian State University. The software doesn’t require patent protection.
The quality management system of the Belarusian State University is certified for compliance with international quality standards DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008, registration number QMS- 00080 from 22.06.2010.
