Highly effective sorbent - Penoporum

Purpose and field of application
Sorbent PENOPORUM is effective preventive means for immediate use in case of sudden pollution and accidents:
  • In zones of the high risk for gathering liquid oil products and organic substances at liquidation of emergency oil outflow;
  • For clearing water areas, soil, sediment tanks, storm sewage of hydrocarbons and their derivatives, crude oil, heavy and easy grades of fuel, vegetable, animal and mineral oils, organic solvents and ordinary organic products;
  • For preventive processing - elimination of industrial polluting substances dissolved in water, containing in sediment and storage tanks, oil separators;
  • For elimination of leakages, for filtration of industrial sewage in metallurgical, chemical and oil-refining industry.
PENOPORUM is produced in the form of plates, granules, mattes, circles, checks, pads that allow carrying out immediate and effective actions and guaranteeing excellent results even in bad weather conditions. Sorbent PENOPORUM is used for preventive processing: elimination industrial polluting substances dissolved in water, containing in sediment and storage tanks, oil separators, and also for elimination of leakages, for filtration of industrial sewage in metallurgical, chemical and oil-refining industry.

Basic characteristics

Sorption ability: PENOPORUM absorbs oil and mineral oil at 30-70 times more than its own weight without change of volume.

Holding capacity: PENOPORUM completely keeps sorbed substance, being in the sated condition on a water surface.

Restoring ability: PENOPORUM allows restoring not less than 80 % of the absorbed substance without change of its characteristics.

Destruction of waste products: after having been used PENOPORUM can be utilized at the industrial waste utilization plant or it can be used as fuel.
