Photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy

Purpose

The drug was designed as a photosensitizer for cancer photochemotherapy and fluorescent diagnosis of tumors localization

Characteristics

Medical equipment allows the use of light radiation, which is directed into the area of biological tissues transparency. Thus, it damages cancer cells in hypoxic conditions.
The drug has the following technical characteristics:

Wavelength of the active radiation 0.65 - 0.9 µm
Depth of tumors damage more than 20 mm
Area of nontoxic concentrations • in tumor cell culture – up to 20 μg / ml
• in wireless rats – ~120 mg / kg
 
Area of effective concentrations • in tumor cell culture – ~ 0.5 - 5.0 μg / ml
• in wireless rats – 2.0 – 5.0 mg / kg
 
Area of effective doses of light exposure • in cell culture – 10-30 J / cm2
• Sarcoma M1 tumor in wireless rats – 70-300 J / cm2
 

In drug provides an opportunity to use more convenient and practical sources of light sources, such as light-emitting diodes, semiconductor lasers. Also, the settings can be adjusted to meet the requirements of a consumer.
