Portable system for rapid assessment of microbal populations vital capacity
Purpose
Portable system is to be used in practical experimental microbiology:
• detection of low levels of bacterial contamination
• determination of effective usage modes of antimicrobials
• research on development of new antibacterial chemical compounds
Characteristics
Operation and functionality of the system are completely specified by the software.
The structure of the portable system consists of:
• unit for obtaining of dry films
• macroscopic conductivity measuring unit
• control unit
Dry films used as test specimens are produced on the surface of planar structure of
capacitive microelectrode sensors of non-Faraday type made of solutions of test cultures treated and/or untreated with biocidal agents.
Values of macroscopic conductivity of dry films used as basic information parameters are measured by a device based on a highly sensitive polarization method of multichannel differential voltammetry.
