Multichannel system to control radiation environment on large radiation hazardous or radiation sensible objects and territories

Purpose

Flexible reliable multichannel system GAMMA is designed to control radiation environment on large radiation hazardous or radiation sensible objects and territories

Characteristics
  • Intellectual units to detect gamma rays
  • Independent measurements by each channel in wide range of dose rate
  • Two operating modes –in normal and emergency radiation environment
  • Setting level of alarm barrier for every
  • Threshold level elevation acoustic and light alarm
  • Possibility of reliable information transition over radio and telephone channels
  • Digital retransmission of information
  • External indication panel
  • No-break power supply
  • Equipment efficiency full address diagnostics
  • Independent information data bases on each automatic measuring station
  • Calibration without detecting units demounting
  • Sensing of wind direction and velocity , humidity availability , temperature measurement
Measurement automatic station (MAS)
The measurement of rate of ambient equivalent dose of gamma rays is realized through intellectual detection unit (IDU) BDMG-АТ2343, in the range from 0,1 mcGy/h to 10 Gy/h. Two-chamber Geiger-Muller counters СИ-42Г are used as the detector. The information from IDU is transmitted to unified unit of terminal controller via SPI RS 485. Sensor of wind direction and wind rate, humidity and temperature sensors are also connected to terminal controller. Depending on the used communication channels the unified unit of terminal controller is equipped with a radio module, a radio station, a wireless mast with antenna-feeder device and/or a telephone module. The equipment may also include external indication panel. No-break power supply provides the feeding. Automated measuring station (AMS) software enables digital retransmission of information thus giving the possibility to space AMS network for considerable distances. Processing algorithm allows identification of sharp change of dose rate and passing into emergency operating mode. The availability of energy-dependent storage makes it possible to create independent information data bases providing data storage for more than a year.

PC completed by AMS is used as central control panel. Windows software allows making adjustment and changing system configuration, to read data and analyze them. The map (plan) of the controlled territory (object) and the values of doses rates in controlled points are entered into a PC screen. Dose rate values can be presented as a table or a diagram with values averaging for any period of time. The processing algorithm allows identification of a sharp change in dose rate and switching to the operation mode in emergency radiation environment. The exceeding of alarm threshold in IDU system or a failure in any system component is displayed on PC screen in colored underlines and is accompanied with sound signals. The dose rate data collected from all IDUs are stored in the database.
